From the roots of Germany, Birkenstocks have been traditional shoes since 1774. These shoes have been reviewed by fashion designers as the best of the best, but when other people see them, they were and are called "ugly shoes". Let's be honest here, most people's go-to-shoes would not be Birkenstocks. I think they are totally amazing but, I doubt I'd actually go spend $70+ dollar shoes if celebrity inspirations (Below) did not wear them. How did they get famous you may ask? Well... let's just say they were doing horrible until the '90s. According the New York Times, Birkenstocks had more sales between 1992-94, then from 1960s-90s combined! It's almost impossible to believe statistics like that... Back to the story, well, massive magazines that hold an abundance of power in the fashion industry started using Birkenstocks such as Kate Moss. German model, Heidi Klum, did a line with Birkenstocks back in the day aka 1990s, it instantly became popular in USA! :) Obviously sandals like this are not yet popular with kids in my age, because, they are... simple said "ugly shoes". With girls especially, the idea of wearing a cute bikini or a trendy dress or even a t-shirt with jeans with shoes with cork on the bottom is repulsive. I say, "Think Again". Now it's time for me to save up and invest into my favorite pair, the Black Patent Birkenstock Madrid. Below are three ways I'd style Birkenstocks via Polyvore, the last being my favorite! :) xx

It has been too long my friends. I'd like to use the excuse that I am moving to another state as an excuse but it was really me just being a lazy bum. Once we move I definitely will have more time on my hands to write more so just be prepared for very minimum updates for the next 10 days or so until I get settled in Atlanta! :)
SALES ARE HUGE RIGHT NOW! STOCK UP FOR FW14 IMMEDIATELY! Sorry xx Sitara xx Although the title is a mouthful, maxi dresses are a must this summer. These versatile dresses can be worked in many different ways just by the accessories and shoes you use to wear them. In the day time, I would opt for casual flats such as gladiator sandals. I definitely would also pair them with a leather jacket but any jacket will do. When the sun sets and its time to bring the night alive, I would definitely wear booties or strappy heels depending on the occasion. For professional wear, you cannot go wrong with simple yet sophisticated black pumps. The outfit on the right is a perfect example of a creative maxi dress. The pleated bottom makes the dress look more professional; the waist belt emphasizes her leaner figure; the metal finishing on her bangles and satchel give a slightly rock look; the blazer brings the entire dress together, making it an appropriate dress for all occasions. The model seems to be wearing black gladiators with a slight heel and it worked really well in this particular outfit. Maxi dresses fit for all body types and ages, just make sure the one you choose fits you.
