If they say a picture is a worth a thousand words, music is worth a million.
I decided to branch out a little bit from the normal fashion today to share with you all what is a huge, huge part of my life. When I'm not reading fashion magazines or shopping or of course at school, I play violin, a lot. To be exact, violin takes up almost 1/8 of my day (I practice 3 hours a day) and 13/17 years of my life (I've been playing since I was 4). So in other words, saying music is a part of my life is an understatement.
Often times, the younger generations brush off classical music -- ahem, concert music -- but they really have no idea what they're missing. Concert music stimulates the brain, relieves stress, and is simply amazing. The most important thing though people forget is that concert music is fun! The friendships you build in your orchestra, the goosebumps you get when you know your making magic are the things people not familiar with concert music don't see and the things musicians thrive on, things I thrive on. And let's be real, I don't just listen to concert music. My favorite violinist is David Garrett, a German crossover artist who covers artists from Coldplay to Ed Sheeran to Led Zeppelin to Miley Cyrus. And of course you all know by now I love One Direction and Taylor Swift, but I bet you didn't know I have a slight crush on Drake and absolutely love Fleetwood Mac. The type of music people listen to tells a lot about people so I'll let you all decide what type of a person I am. :) I have a lot to be thankful for when it comes to music. Moving to a new city is always tough in high school and violin single-handedly made it soooo much better. My inspiring violin teacher and dedicated orchestra director have taught me so much in less than two years. I have achieved personal goals I never thought were remotely attainable. I even have this list of 50 things I want to accomplish before I die, number 1 being having a group of friends that will last a lifetime and I can gladly say, I do. All thanks to violin. (wow, writing this made me tear up) Noooow, just so I don't go completely forget about fashion, I've put together a few looks that would be great for performances!
And for those of you living in NYC, come see my high school, Alpharetta High School perform at Carnegie Hall this March!
Hope you enjoyed! Maybe if you're lucky, you'll hear me play one day! Sitara xx PS - I don't normally do this but special shoutout to my friend, Trevor for being my inspiration behind this post (thanks manager) :D PSS - It doesn't hurt when your bass section is hot as hell :)

I have always believed in you and your passion for "classic" music, but I never thought you would actually pen it down. You made me smile & tear up at the same time. I don't say this often enough, I am proud of you! Love you "Always".
