Sooooooo auditions are some pretty nerve-racking stuff... For the past couple of months I have been prepping for the Georgia All-State Orchestra and I can confidently say it was all worth it since I have passed the first round. I would like to say I was quite prepared for the audition so the night before, I only practiced for an hour and simply ran through my scales and my etude but that was not the real problem. The real problem was what was I possibly going to wear to an audition. If anyone of you have met me, you would definitely know that I dress for every occasion. After loads of outfit changes, I settled for an outfit similar to the one below. All the items above are similar to the ones I wore. My dress from Anthropologie which looked almost identical to that was a lighter and brighter shade of purple. My watch was from Target. Although my pumps were from Naturalizer like the one above, my heel was slightly shorter and it had a cute strap going through the middle. Another thing people seem to forget about when styling is their hair but it is quite a vital part of finished look. I washed my hair the night before and towel dried my hair since I am quite opposed to unnecessary heat. I then put a tiny blob of Moroccan Argon Oil and braided my hair into two pigtails (yes, I know it is childish but, it works miracles). In the morning all I did was take out the braids, pin my bangs to the side, put a little more oil for a shine and ta-da, it was finished and in all took less than 5 minutes. Just make sure not to hide your face and wear too much make-up. All in all, I believe auditions should be a statement and the way you present yourself is something that people do consider when judging you especially when they can see you and although I have not been to a job interview before, I would imagine it is similar if not the same. At my audition, I saw people from jeans and a hoodie all the way to suits so there was definitely two extremes but I would aim for something right in the middle. Below are a few other ways I would style an outfit for any professional setting: Thank you so much for all your support! In 3 days, it will have been 6 months since I started my blog and I did not expect it to be as successful it is today and I hope for more amazing things to happen in the future. Lots of love.
Signing off, Sitara Xx
